The Tinius Olsen tensile testing machine shown is still used today in our Welding laboratory to perform tensile tests primarily for weld inspections. The device pulls a metal specimen end for end stretching the sample until it ultimately fails and pulls apart. During the test it charts the materials resistant measured in pounds per square inch. Current location is Room 709.
